The Den
About | Creative Team | Gallery
The Den explores our subconscious animal and its effect on our ability to relate in a highly civilized world. A den can be a room in a house, or a subterranean space where animals seek refuge. Our inner animal is competitive and focused on its own survival, often in conflict with our desire to relate to others according to acceptable social codes. These two individuals are both instinctual and sophisticated – humans that are deeply connected to their animal roots. They shift between these states – at times gracious and relatable, and other times feral and intuitive. Their energies contradict each other and they struggle in constant opposition. While they persist in their attempts to find a connection, like two positive charges, they can never actually meet.
